Middelburg Weddings are Back

At the end of 2022 I knew one thing for certain; I needed a break from wedding photography. After spending the previous eight years traveling to far flung venues to capture those special I do’s, I wanted to work on more balance between my personal life and work life. It can be hard working every weekend, traveling far to do so and hardly seeing your husband and kids when they have free time. So I hit pause on wedding bookings… but I just can’t keep myself away from the wedding industry.

The solution is simple- focusing on capturing local love stories in the immediate Middelburg area. Middelburg has some beautiful venues to offer, like Rustique Boutique Hotel, Corn & Cob and Gail’s Venues, and I’m super excited to be capturing weddings at them in the near future. I now offer new packages to suit a range of budgets and here’s what you can expect when you book:

  • With 8 years of experience in wedding, and a few awards to boot, you can be assured I have the knowledge and skill to capture your big day.
  • I’m not just there to capture your wedding, but also to help you plan your timeline to get the most out of your package, guide you on how to pose throughout the day and hand you a tissue for those teary moments.
  • I only require a 30% booking fee, making the initial investment more affordable than the typical 50% fee of other wedding vendors.
  • You can expect speedy delivery of your wedding photos within 2-3 weeks of your wedding date; that’s well beyond the 6-12 weeks that’s standard for the wedding industry. Plus, your photos are delivered via private online gallery so you have instant access to your photos as soon as they’re ready.

Heritage Studio Day

September sees Heritage Day celebrated on the 24 September once again this year. For most of us, we think of the concept of heritage in cultural terms; the passing on the traditions, customs and values from one generational group to the next. However, your family has it’s own unique heritage too; one that deserves to be celebrated and honored. That’s exactly what I’m offering you the opportunity to do this Heritage Day by hosting a Family Session open Day at my Middelburg studio.

What You Get

Booking a session isn’t just about snapping some quick pictures, instead it’s about choosing to value yourself and the bonds you share with your loved ones. At my studio I offer you a portrait experience, and that’s exactly what you’ll get on 24 September’s Open Day: a 20 minute studio session with full posing guidance; followed by a personal private online gallery for you to view your photos afterwards. And all at no cost to you.

How It Works

It all starts with booking one of the three free 20 minute sessions on offer. You get a studio session worth R499 at no cost to you and within 48 hours you will be emailed access to your own private online gallery where you can view all the photos from your session. From there you’ll have the option to purchase edited digital photos for only R80 each (usually R89).

Old Hollywood Glamour in Studio with Marchelle

There is just something magical about the look of Old Hollywood starlets of the silver screen. That magic is probably why it’s a popular look to replicate for individual sessions. And that’s just what I did at my Middelburg studio recently with Marchelle; creating something with a retro glamorous look thanks to hard lighting, the right dress and makeup to match.

Natural Couples Session with Hesthea & Daniel in Studio

I love my lights and all their attachments. They’re always on hand to help me fulfill my creative vision when I’m working in my Middelburg studio. However at certain points in the year the natural light that streams into my studio is magical and beautiful and begs to be used. For Hesthea and Daniel’s recent couples session at my studio we started with artificial light but quickly switched to the natural light pouring in, embracing all the magic it brought to their session.

August sees the first stirrings of spring, and also Women’s Month that celebrates the innate power of women in South Africa. This August I’m giving you the opportunity to rediscover yourself through beautiful portraits at my Middelburg studio, and all at an affordable price too.

What’s on Offer

This Women’s month I’m offering you affordable individual or boudoir sessions at my Middelburg studio. And as I know everyone’s tastes differ, I’m also giving you the option to choose your setup: a light and airy look with white drape fabric and glowy lighting, or a dark and moody look with black drape fabric and toned down lighting.

The Package

A session is more than just popping by my Middelburg studio for a few quick pics, instead it’s a portrait experience where I guide you every step of the way. The package on offer for this Women’s Month includes:

  • 15-20 minute studio session
  • posing guidance and helping your confidence blossom
  • 10 digital photos
  • standard hand editing and retouching for a stylised look that still retains our natural beauty
  • beautiful private online gallery to select, view, download and share your photos

Typically, this experience would be well over R1000 but for Women’s Month you can snap up your individual or boudoir session for only R899. What’s more you can expand your package with the addition of in-house makeup services, a wide range of prints in your own online store and the option to purchase additional edited digital photos.
