This women’s session was months in the making, with carefully sourced décor collected from various secondhand shops to build a richly detailed scene. As a photographer, I chose a simple, understated makeup look to contrast the busy opulence of the decorated table, while styling featured a mix of modern costume jewelry alongside vintage and antique pieces from my gran’s collection. Loosely inspired by Old Masters paintings, the final images blend artistry, texture, and storytelling into a striking visual experience.

This creative studio session at my Middelburg studio brought two young sisters together in a beautifully imaginative way. Using meticulous fine art hand editing- with no AI, filters, or presets – each portrait was crafted to feel timeless, whimsical, and deeply personal. Their soft expressions, flowing dresses, and the addition of gentle animal-inspired elements created a storybook feel that celebrates childhood wonder. Sessions like these allow me as a photographer to blend artistry with emotion, transforming simple moments into unique, heirloom-quality portraits families can treasure for a lifetime.
