Nostalgic 70s Dancing Queen
Did I get to experience the 70s? No, but that doesn’t stop me from absolutely loving the aesthetic. Needless to say that when Derrichelle contacted me wanting a session with a retro vibe, I was all in on the concept.

“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”
I love trying new setups and lighting in my Middelburg studio. One of my latest additions to my Style Catalogue is the floating flowers setup that you can now book for your Storyteller session. Featuring a soft pastel pink and cream colour palette, this setup has plenty of flowers that will float all around you to give a beautiful, feminine look to your photos. And of course you can play around with the look even further by the lighting you choose- you could go with soft and glowy or even bright sunlight for a different look.

I’m a big believer that boudoir doesn’t have to fit the cliche of a woman rolling around bedsheets in barely there underwear and heels, and a full face of makeup. Boudoir is about celebrating your feminimity, feeling comfortable in your own skin and rediscovering your sensuality- and in a way that feels right to you. One of the ways you can do that is take inspiration from the past like Melinda and I did for this 60s inspired boudoir session with the makeup, outfit and lighting to match.

A birthday is always the perfect reason to book a session, especially if it’s a milestone birthday like turning 30. I recently met up with Jo-landri in Middelburg to capture her just being the only person she needs to be- herself; and all while celebrating her turning 30 this February.

What makes a beautiful photo; is it in throwing as much stuff into the frame as possible? Nope. It’s simply in matching the right lighting and colour to the personality of the person you’re photographing.
Admittedly this session started off completely different with edgy gelled lighting but it just didn’t fit Lene’s beautifully vibrant personality. So we switched it up to create a touch of soft, yet brilliant, sunshine in my Middelburg studio.

Hello, I’m Bronwyn but you can call me Bron, or simply, B. I’m a Middelburg portrait photographer who looks for the positive in each day and tries to spread as much of it as I can.
I’m passionate about helping people on their journey of self discovery and self love, as they navigate their way to their truest self. It’s their stories I most love telling through portraits they can connect to. If that resonates with you, then I can’t wait to help you tell your story through artful portraits.
