Christmas Vibes with the Coetzee’s

Did I offer styled Christmas sessions this year? You bet I did! However the full Christmas look is not everyone’s vibe and some prefer a simple nod to the season with a pop of red in their wardrobe. This is perfect if you want to have special photos for Christmas greeting cards and printed photo gifts for the grandparents that will look great all year round.

It was great to have the Coetzee family at my Middelburg studio and help them capture special moments they can treasure for a lifetime.

Anél and Anja, a Special Bond

It’s only once your kids are grown and you look back to photos of those early years that you wish you’d held them just a little bit longer, while they were still small. As a mom to two teens myself I know that to be true.

So it was an honor to help Anél with a studio session to capture that special mother-child bond with her daughter. Little Anja was a an absolute ball of fun energy but after a bit of coaxing with my treat jar and just going with her playful spirit, we managed to capture some beautiful photos at my Middelburg studio.

Mioné’s Magical Session

As much as I love simplicity and minimalist touches, there’s always room for a touch of chaos and of course, the creativity it can bring. Mioné’s session started out with a plan, much as all my sessions do, but then inspiration struck mid-way and lighting was changed and a little bit of Photoshop magic added to create this set of portraits.

Creating Timeless Children’s Portraits

As a mom myself, it never ceases to amaze me how fast our children grow up. It’s not until you put two photos, taken even a few months apart, side by side that you see just how much those little faces change. It’s the reason why I encourage parents to invest in quality photos of their children- so they have those memories before they’re gone.

I recently had Nadine’s gorgeous girls in my Middelburg studio for a classic studio session and for a different portrait.

I hinted at something ‘different’ and here it is: a composite image that brings the beach to you when you’re stuck 600km away from it’s shores.
