For the longest time, I was put off from photographing kids and families. Too often it was restless children sitting in front of my lens with parents hissing commands behind me trying to get the ‘perfect’ posed photo.
Having my own children I know that’s not how I want to remember them, with awkward smiles and body language that says, ‘I don’t want to be here’. So it’s been back to the drawing board and learning to embrace my own style of family photography, one with natural expressions, genuine smiles and those little moments full of personality.
While my own children are not quite kiddies anymore, I’m lucky enough to have an awesome friend with the cutest little girls to photograph. So we got together in Middelburg yesterday for a mini-session.
